A New Way to Snooze

We all do it, the alarm goes off, we reach over for that extra 5 minutes of sleep. DON’T DO IT!! The science shows that that little bit of snooze time actually interferes with the bodies biological clock and doesn’t let you get into the good REM sleep we need to get that beneficial sleep. This can result in you feeling groggy and tired all day.

What can you do to help you get your day started on the right foot?

  • Pick an earlier time to go to bed and pick a set wake up time.

  • Try these 3 easy stretching exercises while still in bed.

      1. While laying on your back, bend your knees and rotate them side to side.

      2. While on your back, bend your knees and do pelvic thrusts back and forth.

      3. While laying on your back, pull each knee up towards your chest one at a time.

These simple stretches can get the blood circulating and loosen the back up so that you don’t accidentally strain your back getting out of bed too quickly.

Remember, that little extra 5-10 minutes of snooze time does not do the body good, and in most cases, keep you tired and fatigued throughout the day.
